We used bunch of brightly colored fake blooms, but you can also use real flowers for a more ethereal, whimsical look (just go easy on the wine, you’ll need a softer touch with real blooms).

NewmaChristmas Holiday Photo Shoot

Because Who Really Wants A Traditional Holiday Photo?

Every year, most couples and families take their annual holiday card photos, and we’re no exception.  This year, we wanted to do something fun and different, so instead of snapping a few cute pictures in front of our tree, we went all out.  Dressed up and ready to go, we blitzed through a few typical “holiday festivities” that happen around our home.  Most of which include alcohol, snacks, or spending money.

It was really fun to put together, and even more fun to shoot.  Lucky for me I have a fun-loving husband who was willing to play along, and now we have whole album worth of pictures that represent our 2015 Christmas:

If I could wish one thing for everyone out there, it would be to have fun and laugh with your partner everyday.  Hope you enjoy our album, and I wish you all a happy and safe holiday season!

It’s Engagement Season!

Six Swoonworthy Engagement Rings

If you and your partner have talked about marriage, or even if you’re just happily daydreaming about your someday-proposal, here are a few to ogle.

If you suspect a proposal is coming, dropping hints about your ring preferences can feel awkward.  Here are a couple of subtle (and not so subtle) ways to give your future-fiance a heads up on what kind of ring you love most.

  • Tell a trusted, and mutual, friend or family member what you like/dislike (one who your partner could potentially go to for support or guidance when ring shopping).
  • See a ring on someone you like?  Make sure to compliment it in front of Mr.-Might-Be-Proposing-Soon.  Also, be specific on what you like; “I LOVE princess cut” or “Rose gold rings are my favorite!”
  • Leave your Pinterest screen open on your shared computer or iPad, and make sure it has a few diamond rings in clear view so he can see what you like.  (Less subtle, but effective – my own personal tactic).
  • If your partner brings up the topic of marriage or rings, don’t get shy.  They’re opening the door for hints, so make sure you keep the topic light, but still take advantage of your opportunity to let them in on what you’ve dreamed about (ring-wise, wedding-wise, and relationship-wise).

Do you guys have other ways you hinted at the kind of ring you wanted?  Share your stories- the good, the bad, the funny or awkward.

Katy’s Bachelorette Fiesta

A Champagne-Filled Bachelorette Celebration Complete With Family, Friends, Karaoke, Day-Drinking, and Dance Parties!

Just got back from another amazing Bachelorette weekend, and wanted to share some of the fun with you all!   Celebrating Katy, my soon to be sister-in-law, we spent the weekend in Cincinnati, Ohio to get a full weekend’s worth of girl-time, pampering, and partying!

Night One

One of the best parts of this weekend was that since the bride and groom didn’t pick two different cities, all the couples coming to the party could still travel together.  Upon arrival, however, we all went our separate ways for some quality girl time (and boy-time for the groomsmen).  And for us girls, that meant that as soon as you made it to town, we were all to meet up at the bride’s favorite karaoke bar to kick the party off.  Even after all the traveling, it was the perfect place to unwind and get ready for the rest of the weekend!

Day Two

No better way to start a girls day then with brunch!  After scoping out some options, we settled on the cutest little cafe.   Afterwards, we went to the couple’s new house for the only co-ed activity of the weekend – a few hours of day-drinking, yard games, and bridal party-mingling.   After a bit, the girls all headed out to the local nail salon for manicures and pedicures, complete with champagne of course.  Once we were all fully relaxed, it was back to our hotel suite to get dolled up for the evening’s upcoming activities!

Night Two

For our big night out to celebrate our amazing Bride-to-Be, we started off with dinner at Bravo, a local Italian restaurant where we could all carb-up for the night.  After some yummy pasta dishes and more than a few bottles of champagne, we went back to our hotel suite for some Bachelorette games and a lingerie shower.  Then it was out to the bars!  Cincinnati has some great nightlife, and us girls had a blast out on the dance floor all night.  When the bride decided she was ready to call it a night, it was time to head back to the room – but not before ordering a late night pizza delivery and a night-cap back at our suite.

Day Three

After our night of fun, we all woke up a little hazy.  Luckily the Maid of Honor had made us all hangover kits – so we were each given a box filled with Advil, Bandaids, scope, granola and a mini bottle of champagne (hair of the dog).   With varying departure times, we all began our goodbyes to head home and nurse our hangovers.  It was a great weekend, and made us all even more excited for the upcoming Wedding!

I hope you had as much as we all did Katy!  It was such a blast celebrating with you, and I’m so excited for September 25th!

Bachelorette Weekend In Review

Elizabeth’s Beach Weekend Bachelorette Getaway

Just got back from the most relaxing bachelorette weekend, and I have to rave about it a little on here.  Since the bride wanted a nice weekend with her bridal party, but didn’t want a big, crazy, penis-themed blowout bash, we all decided on a beach weekend.

Night One

Night One

A nice dinner out at a local pizzeria, followed by movies and champagne sleepover party.

Day Two

beach day

Beach day at West Palm Beach.  We managed to find the one part of the coast by us that didn’t get rained out!

Night Two

night two

Our “big” night out… dinner, margaritas, bar hopping, dancing, and a few too many rounds of tequila shots!  Before we went out we went to a local blow out bar to get dolled up – Blowtox in Wellington, Florida.  They gave us the big hair we’ve always wanted, and some free champagne!

Day Three

Beach day 2

Our second beach up at Lake Worth, where we packed some beers, snacks and sandwiches.  The water was 85 degrees!

Night Three

night three

We found a bottomless wine bar with an amazing dinner menu.  Then we spent the remainder of the night drinking champagne on the porch and catching up on our girl talk.

Our Final Day

pool day

With flights out mid afternoon, we were able to spend the morning at the pool.  Being a Monday, we had the place to ourselves.  It was a perfect ending to a perfect weekend!

If you have a bride that doesn’t want the typical crazy chaos of a bachelorette party, look into a beach getaway.  It was the perfect way to wind down in the weeks before her big day!

Did you know one of the best way to save money on flowers is to make sure they’re in bloom during the month you get married?  Sit down with your florist and discuss what’s going to be in season during your wedding.  You won’t have to pay up to get anything shipped in so you won’t be paying any additional fees.  Do your homework ahead of time by peeking through our June Blooms gallery to see what flowers to consider if you’re planning a June wedding.
